"Non countable Migraine attacks"
Any migraine patient in world who receives 400 to 500 attacks per years?
My stomach is filled with pills. If I sleep I get worst pain after sleep I prefer to sit all the day and night on the chair.
When I was 10 , I had received 1 attack of migraine pain per week,
When I was 20 I received 3 to 5 attacks per week
When I was 30 I received 5 to 7 per week
When I was 40 I received 7 to 10 attacks per week
Now I am 50 I receive 10 to 15 attacks per week
When I will be in 60 years - I do not know what will be happen to me.
I left the job as a bank manager due to 15 attacks per week.
I am only parson in my whole family feeling migraine.Thank God my kids are well. I do not want to die or suicide. I want to live for my family.
Medicines companies have any answer about my migraine? Which sell expensive medicines out of the reach of poor peoples.

Like I mentioned before, I surely can relate! I have migraines since I was a teenager, and they have gotten worse ever year since! I am only 36 and I have as many migraines a week as you or more!

I cannot believe that people like us have been denied attention for so many years--especially from the drug companies! Now that they have some meds out there to help us, they are sure doing a good job milking the public for money! I feel with you!

P.S. What pills DO you take?

Shakil,

You mentioned having a sister here in the United States. Is she a citizen? Can she do anything to help you get here? I am sure you have thought about it but I am curious. In which state does she live?

I hope you are feeling better today. I know it is so difficult for you. What is the temperature in Pakistan? I imagine it is quite hot.

Leslie

"You can pull my brain out of my head and see what is the thing in it which is paining my head..If anybody succeeds in this mater to find the cause of the pain,it will be the great work towards migraine."

Migraines are no longer considered headaches but rather a complex neurological disorder akin to seizures where the neurons in your brain race back and forth uncontrollably irritating the blood vessels which causes the head pain. That is why anti-seizure medication is used and works so well "in most people".

Unfortunately there are side effects as with almost any medication so it takes time to find the right medication for you. One that is effective w/ no or the least amount of side effects.

Most of the advancement in migraines is based on this discovery and has only been made in the last 6 or 8 years so it will be a few more years until new "wonder" drugs such as the half dozen in the triptan class will be offered at a cheaper price.

I say wonder drugs because people (and I'm not one of them as I have only had them for 4 years)who have had migraines for 15 or 20yrs had only darkness and a cool cloth to comfort them now have triptans that are as quick and effective for most migraine pain as aspirin is for regular head pain.

There is hope out there Shakil...Hang in there

As a side note, my migraines were triggered by a bad car accident in which an F-150 pickup ran a red light and slammed into the driver's side of my little S-10. I can associate with your pain because they went undiagnosed for over 7months.

You asked about the number of migraines. Try a minimum of 2500 in year. I had between 7 and 9 migraine attacks per day every day for 1 1/2 years until my neuro brought them under control. If you wonder how I know how many attacks I had when I was in constant pain, well, I had the auras 7 or 8 times per day as each new migraine came on and they were of different intensities. It took a full year before they slowed enough to respond to Triptans but even then w/in 1 or 2 hrs they started up again. There is a note in my medical record that my doctor made in horror regarding my sentiments of relief because I had 2 or 3 whole hours pain free each day. Hahahaha

My heart is with you Shakil.

Shakil,

I have suffered from migraines for years and know how devastating they can be to your life and it sounds as if you are not being given the benefit of the many treatment available in the U.S. due to the expense of these drugs.

Even so, I want to offer my sympathies and prayers to you and hope that you find relief from your unbearable agony.

Lisa

I began having a migraine about every 6- 8 weeks (about 20 years ago). Now I have moderate to severe headpain 20 - 30 days a month. Basically, all the time. One thing I have going for me is that the pain intensity fluctuates from a 3 to a 10 and back again. So, in one day it can be a 3,7,4,9,7,8,5,9. Hard to control them. I also have seizure activity that is finally controlled by Keppra. But, nothing but pain meds helps the headaches. It is very frustrating and makes it impossible for me to hold a job due to reliability. And, of course, disability just loves to deny people. :::rolling eyes::: I have a good Dr. whom I trust and whom does believe in pain control. First one in a LONG time. Good luck all. This certainly is a taxing journey.

Shakil,

My heart goes out to you. I have had intense, constant migraines since I was 12 (I am now 23). And I too live in the desert, in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, where the temperature can reach close to 45 C. All I can say is hold on to what you can find good in your life. That is what has kept me from going over the edge so many times. My mother has migraines as well, if not worse than mine. She is so debilitated she cannot get out of bed most days. Please, pray to your God that help can come from the most unlikely places. Look at the major headache clinics in the USA, I believe some will sponser severe cases to come over to be treated. The most important point is to keep the faith in your heart that this is not the end and help will come.
You are in my prayers,
Jaimie

12. "RE: Non countable Migraine attacks"
I have had a similar experience and was able to stop them completely.

I was taking Imitrex at $20.00 U.S. per tablet.
$200.00 per day for 2 years. I was totally disabled from the migraines.

No doctors could find anything that worked but tylenol #3 with codeine. Very addictive. I have taken as many as 15 pills at one dose.

I was certainly addicted. Like you I was desperate. I started looking on the internet for help.

I discovered that most people who have more than 3 migraines per month are suffering from some type of food related issue.

Since I am a Chef, I noticed from your name that you come from an area of the world which uses lots of fat and oils. I don't know the exact trigger but what I did that stopped my migraines in 2 days is to quit eating as much fat as I was consuming at that time.

Since I am a Chef, I was very addicted to fats and oils. How could I not be when I cook by taste all these many years. I cut down from 200mg of fat and oils, to just 25mg per day. In 2 days the migraines were gone, along with many other symptoms and problems that I had.

What have you got to lose? With your severe frequency of migraines I would hope that you are willing to try almost anything to stop them instead of using drugs to treat them. All of the drugs that they have come with severe and some life threatening consequences.

This costs nothing and it just might work. Try it for 1 week and see. Please reply and also if you try it let me know how it turns out each day.
