I am starting to really hate these migrane headache. They are taking over our life. My little girl is only 6 and has suffered 6 attacks since March 9,2005. She has seen a ped. gastro and all he did was run expensive test on and keeps increasing her elavil. Just recently I took her to a ped. neuro. he told me to stop her elavil if it was not working and he gave me a rx for Maxalt. She had another vomiting cycle yesterday at school. Somedays I just want to cry. When she is doubled over in pain and there is nothing I could do for her. Noboday will give me anything for the pain. I feel so helpless when she is having this attack. Has anybody been to a Chiropractic for this and had any luck. On my wit in, and just trying to find some kind of relief. Thanks

Three days ago my daughter called me from school crying about a headache. i brought her home, gave her 2 popcicles, gave her a warm bath, childrens motrin and she became ok. although 2 days later she vomited with the same headache. it usually last about an hour or so. i remembered around easter break we went to my folks and she woke up with a terrible headache and vomited. i have the feeling she's a victim of migrains. she hasnt had an occurance with her dad, for i feel shes more relaxed. ive tried a relationship after being divorced for 4 years. well now were co-habitating and the first day she was planning to stay with us is when i got the phone call from school. i try to communicate the best i can and truly believe that shes trusting in me. i love her so much......what do i do..

My 9 year old son was diagnosed less than a week ago with this. I must admit I was quite shocked. The school became worried when he was in the nurses office 8 times between Jan. 1 and March 1. We would always have him lay down then go back to class. At first the doctors thought it was sinus problems, then an ulcer, then he just needed to use the bathroom more. Finally, last week he complained that he was going to vomit. He has had nausea but never vomit. The doctor has put him on Zomig which only helps when the headache starts to come on but doesn't prevent it. If this medicine doesn't help then we will see a specialist. We only get 6 pills at a time and we got through them in a matter of a couple/three days. He asked me the other day if he was a sick little boy. I started to cry. I just try to find a support network and learn what I can. It is nice to know there are other families out there too. I also learned that it is hereditary and generally comes from the mothers side. I have headaches everyday. Wish I would have paid more attention to him and put two and two together. I welcome any thoughts and ideas.
