"How can i get rid of these migrains????????"
Hey everyone! Well here's my story....I'm 15 and i've had migrains for around 2 yr or longer. These migrains have taken over my life, i'm like not the same person i used to be because of these. I get migrains almost everyday but once in a while i'm ok for about a month or something and then they start again.The pain is just unbarrible there's the headache but then i always get the fatigue and the dizzines, and my arms and sometimes legs and nose or mouth and face get numb (I'm sure many of u also experiance this). I have missed so many days of school and of fun with my friends becasue of migrains and i'm just so sick of it!This has also been hard on my parents to deal with because they dont know what else to do, we've tried so many medications and some work a little but not enough to completly relieve the pain. If there's anything that has worked for you guys please let me know..drop me an e-mail if u want, it's really nice to knwo that other ppl out there know how it feels to have migrains, cause some ppl just dont understand how it is.

Hi! I feel so badly for you to be so young and miss out on so much. I know what you are going through. I've had migraines most of my life and they were worse when I was your age. I'm an Old Lady of 40 now. I wish there was smoething easy and magical to tell you! My migraines didn't start like yours, they were bright lights wiht tunnel vission and then the HA would come 20 min. later. Just this year I have started having the same symptoms you are describing. Very scary, isn't it. I also have small seziures and amnesia with mine now. I do see a new neurologist the end of the month. If I find out anything wonderful, I'll let you know in hopes it would help you too! Hang in there Sweetie. Eventhough we have been plagued with the migraines, there are so many good things in life also!!! Mine did get better when I had my children, they are your age now and I'm starting to have mine more frequently and different symptoms now. My oldest son, 13, has them also. hi im also a older lady i just turned 38 and still get migraines thery bad and i hate them i have had midren for the migraines and imitrix pills, sometimes i will take two sinus pills like the kind from krogers store and one migraine pill and go lay in a dark room with my heating pad and it goes away i have never had an aura but i can feel the headache in the back of my head lurking around.i have 5 kids and my 14 year old daughter gets them and so does my 12 year old son. just try to stay calm and dont let it get you down..

Hi Alexis,
I am an older woman who is concerned about you. I too, of course, suffer from these aliens who drop in unexpectedly at all and any time they want to.
Have you had tests to make sure they are migraines? Are you going to a migraine doctor or a specialist I am also curious as to what types of medication you have tried. I can take Maxalt 10 mg and have fairly good results. It is in the Triptan family.

Hi! I am 21 years old and I have migraines with aura. (numbness, etc.) I know that's very scarey! I take Inderal LA to prevent my migraines, I watch what I eat, and I take Imitrex nasal spray when I get one. It works wonderfully for me. Have you tried it?

you are sooo right about the candida diet!!! My mom is a truw believer in al of this homeopathic stuff and she loves the candida diet..however it is very excrutiating to follow....i think it works super but very strongly advise to do it for about a month...then again in a couple months after\

I know how you feel. I have migraines wih auras once or twice a month. Right now I'm taking Relpax, but it makes me so tired and weak that i can't do anything at all, I can't even walk.

Hello I am 18 and I have had migraines for 2 years now and I know how you feel. But recently I came across a new OTC Homeopathic drug to target migraines rapidly. It is a liquid medication that goes under your tongue for quick resulsts. I just took it. And it really does seem to work the pain went from my usuall 10 to maybe a 1 or 2. It is called GelStat Migraine. I am also starting to take herbal supplements that are organic because they seem to really help. I hope you the best and everything works different for everyone there is no single med that works for everyone. Everyone has a different system in their body. But I wish you all the luck in finding something that works for you.

I too am a migraine sufferer who did find relief after being on a ton of meds, it also runs in my family. I have three children and I pray they didnt inherit this from me. I would love to help you get feeling good. I am taking a nutritional product called Reliv, have you heard of it? Hi,
Acupuncture gave us our son back! He was suffering for over a month with abd. pain and headaches. Nothing was working for him, not even the Elavil (he is 11 yrs old). Out of desperation and not really thinking that it would work, we took him for acupunture and we call it now "The miracle of acupunture". My son recovered the very first day. We take him every week for now, and he'll go later for maintenance. There was a young woman taking the classes with this Chinese doctor and said to me that she quit her job to do acupunture because the treatment cured her of migraines. I hope you can give it a try. If you decide to try it, make sure you find a good licensed Chinese doctor. Good Luck....and please let me know.

I too have migraines. I've had them since I was 12 and I'm 23 now. In my family, they're hereditary.
All I can tell you is just try and stay optimistic. Unfortunately, there is no miracle drug out there. There are things to help reduce the intensity and frequency of your migraines though.
Mine became chonic over the last few months and I'm now on a preventative medication. Find a good neurologist and ask him what he recommends you do. Most of us have preventatives, abortives (something to ease the migraine during an attack) and "resuce" meds (last resort).
To be completely honest, it is rare that migraines go away completely. But there are things you can do to help yourself. Keep eating right, stay active, reduce stress, sleep well... basic healthy information.

Hey I'm 17 and totally agree with everything you said. It's gotten to the point where just getting up seems like a chore. I've tried everything from morphine to oxycontin with no end in sight, but ask your doctor about REAL pain medication and maybe you'll be able to find some relief. I also had some luck with Imitrex, it was one of the few drugs that actually helped for even the littlest bit. It's been nearly four years now and it's not getting any easier, but it's nice to know there are other people out there that are more or less dealing with the same pain day in and day out.

hi i am 13 and have had migranes for about 1year and a half. they are really startin to get me down and i wish they would just go awa. unfortunatly they wont so theres no point really believeing that. hopefully they will go away in the long run. so if i just try to stay healthy they hopefully willl go away. i have tablets called migraleve but sometimes they dont work. i think the best thing to get rid of them is a goooooddd sleep.i think that works best for me. also you get to catch up on sleep and get rid of those bags underneath your eyes. i am going to go to an ostiopath and see if it is something to do with my body not being inline or something like that. hopefully that will sort it out!!!!!!!!! thanks a lot to everyones advice

Hello guys,
I have had migrains for about 5 years and I am only 17. Each year the get worse and worse. I have had CT scans, MRI scans, physiotherapy, chiropractic work, tested for food allergies and many amounts of medication that still has not worked. Sometimes it even hurts to cry, so the best for me so far is a bag of frozen peas in a dark room. It is nice to know i am not the only one in this world like this. They are such a terrible thing, so I do feel for you all.

Hi everybody im 19 from johannesburg south Africa
and like all off u suffer many horrific migrains.they started when i was about 8years old i havw been to many different docters,physiotherapists,dieticians,ENT specialists and they all have different explanations for my migrains like im alergic reaction to the atmosphere or my one leg is 4mm shorter than the other.as i sit here and write im suffering with a migrain a friend who is a pharmacist told me to try taking slow release magnesium tablets at night before bed they have been keeping the migrain monsters away they are no longer weekly invaders today is my first in 2 and a half months. and today im using my migrain stick it costs R60 its a rollon tube the size of your pinky finger its a mixture of mint oil and lavender oil you rub it on the forhead back of the neck give it about 10-15min depending on the intensity of the migrain and it stopps hurting.
it works for me i dont go anywear without my migrain stick.

If you have not done so already, have your folks take you to a good Pediatric Neurologist. My 16yr old daughter has daily migraines- they are called transformed migraines. There are lots of different meds you can try, but you need to see a specialist. Also, read my post on the importance of a 504 plan for school. Take care

If you've experienced suffering from low back pain and used tramadol or
muscle relaxant .I have tried generic ultram ,its content is tramadol hcl 50 mg
along with Caritasone ,the muscle relaxant as its content is carisoprodol 175 mg
so the result was rather good as well as the cost of curing was surprising low .

well I am 15 going on 16 and I have dealt with daily migraines for 4 years now. I was hospitalized for seven days and it actually worked. For the most part anyway. But the medication I am on causes fibrosis of all my major organs so I have to take a month off of all the medications for two months out of the year (so that�s every 6 months) and that month is going to be hell, because even when I am late on my medication I have an instant migraine. So I am not looking forward to that. I�ve been forced to drop out of school because I can�t keep up with work but I am hoping to get back next year. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have also lost all of my friends due to the migraines because they don�t understand how a migraine can make you not be able to get out of bed in the morning and just do basic day to day things that we all have to do. Most of them think that I am doing it for attention or they think I am weird. But this hospital I went to in Ann Arbor Michigan was great. People come there from all over the world and even from different countries. It�s Called Michigan Head Pain And Neurological Institute. The hospital you stay at is Chelsea Hospital which is also in Michigan. They have there own Migraine wing and your surrounded by many doctors that suffer from migraines and the other people that are there totally know what your going threw. And there�s a hotel right next to the wing that u can see out of the windows where your parents can stay for next to nothing if your in there for migraines. It was a very positive place.
I also learned so much there that I would have ever known. Before this place I found no relief and got addicted to Vic Odin because I needed something for the pain. Here is the address you should definitely check it out it can change your life.

Hi,
I have had chronic intractible migraine/ new daily persistent headache since age 17, now 26. It is tough. I have been dealing with this for 9.5 years and I have not come up with any magic sure.
Are you seeing a neurologist or headache specialist? If not, please do so- asap. They might be able to help with preventative and abortive meds. Abourtive meds- like imitrex or dhe, stop the headache. preventatives are meds you take daily to prevent it. So it might be something to think about.
The homeopathic/natural things are definitely worth a try. However, so are neurologists. My neuor reccomends some of the natural stuff in conjuntion with the other stuff- Vitamin B, Ginger, biofeedback, etc.
Sarah's idea about the Michigan headache clinic or another headache clinic is definitely worth checking out as well.
As to school, migraine is classified as a disability, so you can get a 504/IEP plan. This basically means that you can make up work/class missed due to migraine and some other stuff. This is definitely a great thing.
I hope things get better for you.
Also, you can post on the adult or regular migraine discussion as more people tend to respond to that.

I have had migrains for about 6 years now. I am 32 yrs old and have been through a study program to help others with the same problem. I have tried maxalt, imitrex, inderal, ect.. The only thing I have found to calm a migrain down is butabital, it contains caffene and asprin. If I don't have one handy then I drink a dr. pepper and take a motrin 600. The caffene works better than all of the other prescriptions. Currently I wear a magnet necklace to prevent my migrains, they still seam to sneak through the magnets but not as many. My 8 yr. old daughter also has migrains and is going through all of the MRI's and c-scans to make sure all is well. Thanks for hearing me out and I hope that some of you can find peace with these horrible things.

Wow i really feel your pain...except ive been getting migrains since i was young. Like since i was 7 or 8, and im 19 now. Ive been battling these horrible things for years now and found a medicine that works. Immatrex it works! It might not work for everyone but it works for me. They make them in pill form now. I heard back when, they only made the shot form, which i had to take once because my headach got so bad i wanted to go to the hospital. But if you take the immatrex pill right when you feel your headach comming, it should work. Some of the side effects of immatrex is that you get alittle sleepy. But this doesn't happen to me thank god. But you should deffinatly give this drug a try!

Hi Alexis, I am an older woman who is concerned about you. I too, of course, suffer from these aliens who drop in unexpectedly at all and any time they want to. Have you had tests to make sure they are migraines? Are you going to a migraine doctor or a specialist I am also curious as to what types of medication you have tried. Hi! I am 21 years old and I have migraines with aura. (numbness, etc.) I know that's very scarey! I take Inderal LA to prevent my migraines, I watch what I eat, and I take Imitrex nasal spray when I get one. It works wonderfully for me. Have you tried it?

	Hello I am 18 and I have had migraines for 2 years now and I know how you feel. But recently I came across a new OTC Homeopathic drug to target migraines rapidly. It is a liquid medication that goes under your tongue for quick resulsts. I just took it. And it really does seem to work the pain went from my usuall 10 to maybe a 1 or 2. It is called GelStat Migraine. I am also starting to take herbal supplements that are organic because they seem to really help. I too am a migraine sufferer who did find relief after being on a ton of meds, it also runs in my family. I have three children and I pray they didnt inherit this from me. 	Hi, Acupuncture gave us our son back! He was suffering for over a month with abd. pain and headaches. Nothing was working for him, not even the Elavil (he is 11 yrs old). Out of desperation and not really thinking that it would work, we took him for acupunture and we call it now "The miracle of acupunture". My son recovered the very first day. We take him every week for now, and he'll go later for maintenance. There was a young woman taking the classes with this Chinese doctor and said to me that she quit her job to do acupunture because the treatment cured her of migraines. I hope you can give it a try. 	I too have migraines. I've had them since I was 12 and I'm 23 now. In my family, they're hereditary. All I can tell you is just try and stay optimistic. Unfortunately, there is no miracle drug out there. There are things to help reduce the intensity and frequency of your migraines though. Mine became chonic over the last few months and I'm now on a preventative medication. Find a good neurologist and ask him what he recommends you do. Most of us have preventatives, abortives (something to ease the migraine during an attack) and "resuce" meds (last resort). To be completely honest, it is rare that migraines go away completely. But there are things you can do to help yourself. Keep eating right, stay active, reduce stress, sleep well... basic healthy information. Hang in there, sweetie.

Hey I'm 17 and totally agree with everything you said. It's gotten to the point where just getting up seems like a chore. I've tried everything from morphine to oxycontin with no end in sight, but ask your doctor about REAL pain medication and maybe you'll be able to find some relief. I also had some luck with Imitrex, it was one of the few drugs that actually helped for even the littlest bit. It's been nearly four years now and it's not getting any easier, but it's nice to know there are other people out there that are more or less dealing with the same pain day in and day out.

	hi i am 13 and have had migranes for about 1year and a half. they are really startin to get me down and i wish they would just go awa. unfortunatly they wont so theres no point really believeing that. hopefully they will go away in the long run. so if i just try to stay healthy they hopefully willl go away. i have tablets called migraleve but sometimes they dont work. i think the best thing to get rid of them is a goooooddd sleep.i think that works best for me. also you get to catch up on sleep and get rid of those bags underneath your eyes. i am going to go to an ostiopath and see if it is something to do with my body not being inline or something like that. hopefully that will sort it out!!!!!!!!! thanks a lot to everyones advice love fliss xxxxxxx

	Hello guys, I have had migrains for about 5 years and I am only 17. Each year the get worse and worse. I have had CT scans, MRI scans, physiotherapy, chiropractic work, tested for food allergies and many amounts of medication that still has not worked. Sometimes it even hurts to cry, so the best for me so far is a bag of frozen peas in a dark room. It is nice to know i am not the only one in this world like this. They are such a terrible thing, so I do feel for you all. xx

	Hi everybody im 19 from johannesburg south Africa and like all off u suffer many horrific migrains.they started when i was about 8years old i havw been to many different docters,physiotherapists,dieticians,ENT specialists and they all have different explanations for my migrains like im alergic reaction to the atmosphere or my one leg is 4mm shorter than the other.as i sit here and write im suffering with a migrain a friend who is a pharmacist told me to try taking slow release magnesium tablets at night before bed they have been keeping the migrain monsters away they are no longer weekly invaders today is my first in 2 and a half months. and today im using my migrain stick it costs R60 its a rollon tube the size of your pinky finger its a mixture of mint oil and lavender oil you rub it on the forhead back of the neck give it about 10-15min depending on the intensity of the migrain and it stopps hurting. it works for me i dont go anywear without my migrain stick.

Alexis, If you have not done so already, have your folks take you to a good Pediatric Neurologist. My 16yr old daughter has daily migraines- they are called transformed migraines. There are lots of different meds you can try, but you need to see a specialist. Also, read my post on the importance of a 504 plan for school. Take care

	If you've experienced suffering from low back pain and used tramadol or muscle relaxant .I have tried generic ultram ,its content is tramadol hcl 50 mg along with Caritasone ,the muscle relaxant as its content is carisoprodol 175 mg so the result was rather good as well as the cost of curing was surprising low . hey, well I am 15 going on 16 and I have dealt with daily migraines for 4 years now. I was hospitalized for seven days and it actually worked. For the most part anyway. But the medication I am on causes fibrosis of all my major organs so I have to take a month off of all the medications for two months out of the year (so that�s every 6 months) and that month is going to be hell, because even when I am late on my medication I have an instant migraine. So I am not looking forward to that. I�ve been forced to drop out of school because I can�t keep up with work but I am hoping to get back next year. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have also lost all of my friends due to the migraines because they don�t understand how a migraine can make you not be able to get out of bed in the morning and just do basic day to day things that we all have to do. Most of them think that I am doing it for attention or they think I am weird. But this hospital I went to in Ann Arbor Michigan was great. People come there from all over the world and even from different countries. It�s Called Michigan Head Pain And Neurological Institute. The hospital you stay at is Chelsea Hospital which is also in Michigan. They have there own Migraine wing and your surrounded by many doctors that suffer from migraines and the other people that are there totally know what your going threw. And there�s a hotel right next to the wing that u can see out of the windows where your parents can stay for next to nothing if your in there for migraines. It was a very positive place. I also learned so much there that I would have ever known. Before this place I found no relief and got addicted to Vic Odin because I needed something for the pain. 	Hi, I have had chronic intractible migraine/ new daily persistent headache since age 17, now 26. It is tough. I have been dealing with this for 9.5 years and I have not come up with any magic sure. Are you seeing a neurologist or headache specialist? If not, please do so- asap. They might be able to help with preventative and abortive meds. Abourtive meds- like imitrex or dhe, stop the headache. preventatives are meds you take daily to prevent it. So it might be something to think about. The homeopathic/natural things are definitely worth a try. However, so are neurologists. My neuor reccomends some of the natural stuff in conjuntion with the other stuff- Vitamin B, Ginger, biofeedback, etc. Sarah's idea about the Michigan headache clinic or another headache clinic is definitely worth checking out as well. As to school, migraine is classified as a disability, so you can get a 504/IEP plan. This basically means that you can make up work/class missed due to migraine and some other stuff. I have had migrains for about 6 years now. I am 32 yrs old and have been through a study program to help others with the same problem. I have tried maxalt, imitrex, inderal, ect.. The only thing I have found to calm a migrain down is butabital, it contains caffene and asprin. If I don't have one handy then I drink a dr. pepper and take a motrin 600. The caffene works better than all of the other prescriptions. Currently I wear a magnet necklace to prevent my migrains, they still seam to sneak through the magnets but not as many. My 8 yr. old daughter also has migrains and is going through all of the MRI's and c-scans to make sure all is well. Thanks for hearing me out and I hope that some of you can find peace with these horrible things.

Wow i really feel your pain...except ive been getting migrains since i was young. Like since i was 7 or 8, and im 19 now. Ive been battling these horrible things for years now and found a medicine that works. Immatrex it works! It might not work for everyone but it works for me. They make them in pill form now. I heard back when, they only made the shot form, which i had to take once because my headach got so bad i wanted to go to the hospital. But if you take the immatrex pill right when you feel your headach comming, it should work. Some of the side effects of immatrex is that you get alittle sleepy. But this doesn't happen to me thank god. But you should deffinatly give this drug a try!
