Hi Jaymz,

It is spelled PHENERGAN. You might find it with this spelling. Good luck.

Jaymz, I think Leslie is right - if it is for nausea, your spelling is wrong.

Try Leslie's spelling.

Jaymz, My sister used that when she got a bad mig. on a trip. She tried to get it here when she came back and couldnt. I think you might need to get it from a compounding pharmacy, but I'm not sure.

...this is what I've found- hope that helps:

"Question: We have a prescription for Phenergan gel 12.5 mg/0.1 cc and we can't find any information about how to formulate this product or whether it is commercially available. Any help that you can provide for this formulation would be greatly appreciated.

Answer: Promethazine has been available overseas as 2% cream for topical application. One reference describes the compounding of promethazine in hydroxypropylmethylcellulose gel. Promethazine HCl is soluble 1 in 0.6 of water, 1 in 9 of alcohol; a 10% solution in water has a pH of 5.0 to 6.0. it is incompatible with a number of chemicals, including morphine sulfate and alkalies. It would seem reasonable to combine promethazine HCl solution with a commercially-available gel base, such as KY, Surgilube, or Liqua-Gel, in the desired concentration, or with the poloxamer gel based on "Pluronic F-127NF." The final product should be stored in airtight containers and protected from light."

I use this product myself. It is called Promethazine 25 mg Gel. I get a script from my personal doctor. I ask for and get 6 at a time for a total cost of $15.00. My ins. which is Aetna from UPS does not pay for this.

But since pills love to come up, and suppositories of phen always give me diarrhea so they aren't useful either. This is a good product for me.

Mine come in little blunt tip all plastic type syringes, you put the gel on the inside of your wrists and rub together. It usually takes about 20 mintues before it is working at a good pace.

I am sure they can make up 50 mg syringe gel doses also.

I buy mine at Family Pharmacy in Mobridge SD. There are two in town, but only one carries the gel. It's phone number is 605 845 8140. THe pharmacist's name is Russ Hatch. The street address is 1317 10th Avenue West Mobridge SD 57601. They also have a toll free 1 800657 5804.
This pharmacy is located inside our local hospital.

Like I said I pay $15.00 I am sure with shipping it's a bit more. I hope this helps you.

Thank you Risa and Sandi for all of your research.

I am emailing the thread to 2 friends who have horrid nausea problems. Russ and his little pharmacy may soon be doing a booming business in nausea gel.
