"Another Percocet question......"
I mentioned in an earlier post that my husband was given Percocet for a painful tooth absess, although when he picked up the prescription it says "Oxycocet", is that the generic name?

My question is, he has a few left and says I can use them if I get a bad migraine as he doesn't need them now (said they didn't help anyway).

The thing is, it doesn't say what strength they are on the bottle, or on the pills. They are fairly big white pills, so how would you know what strength they are? If I was to try them for a migraine, would I only be able to take one or two? Also, are there any nasty side effects?
My husband certainly didn't have any but they never helped the pain either.

1. "Oxycocet = Percocet ???"
I would like to know, too.
My friend gave me two pills of something like that - I wanted to try it for my worst M.
So far I was afraid to try because I keep taking Emtec (tylenol with codeine) and I was worried I may make myself woozy from too much of kodeine.
Could someone advise me too, please, what should be a time space between Emtec (300mg tylenol, 30mg codeine) and Oxy/Perc ?

When I filled my prescription locally, I received a generic. It was called Endocet 10/325 mg.

The prescription I filled mail order is name brand Percocet.

I think your best bet is to call the pharmacy and ask.

oxicodone, oxicocet, percocet it is all the same. Percocet is the original, the others are generic.

if I remeber right it goes like this ( sample):

oxycodone/acetamin 5-325 mg

the first number stands for the oxycodone/percocet in this point the 5 mg. You can get the percocet in 2.5, 5. 7.5, and 10 mg.

the second number in this point the 325 mg can change to 500mg and 650 mg and stands for the acetaminophen.

If I remember right, you can`t get all different strenghts on percocet with the different acetamin, only the higher ones (7.5 &10 mg).

If I`m wrong please correct me if I`m wrong, my brain is kind of bla bla tonight.

hope this helps,
hugs
