"Inderal LA & weight gain......"
Has anyone experienced weight gain with Inderal LA....?

I'm up about 10 lbs. since starting Inderal just under a month ago.

Anyone notice any food cravings, i.e., sugary stuff?

I've restarted phase I of the South Beach diet and started weights and cardio more frequently.

I only took Inderal for a very short time, many years ago. I just want to say I understand. If there is the slightest chance a med will increase my appetite, then I get A HUMONGOUS APPETITE!

I think you are wise to watch your food intake and exercize. Does Inderal make you a bit lethargic?

Marc:

The two biggest problems for Anna with Inderal were blacking out and terrible sweating like having hot flashes.

It was one of her first preventatives.

Yes for weight gain, but she was also on Elavil at the same time.

I have been on Ideral for 10 years. When I first

started taking it I gained a little weight, prob

10 pounds or so but then i lost it in no time.

I was concerned about the weight gain too but my

doc assured me that once my body regulated the

med that i would loose the weight that i had

gained and i did. so maybe that is whats

going on with you. Good luck!

My mom has been on Inderal for years...she is skinny as a rail.

I tried it as a preventative, and it made me terribly depressed...I would just sit and cry for no reason...

So, I guess that did not help you at all!

Good luck with south beach, my mil and fil both have had great success with it...

Thanks for the info everyone...

My concern is I've lost a large amount of weight since March 04 (started the South Beach diet after St. Patty's)--I'm down ~40 lbs. This spike up has me a bit concerned. I still have some more to go--I have 10 to lose that I gained back, on top of 20 lbs. for my target.

I gained 4 pounds over a few days.

I lost weight on Effexor, but gained on Cymbalta. I'll have to discuss this with my neuro when I see him in 2 weeks.

I don't think it has been from working out. You don't gain 10 lbs. of muscle in 2 weeks.

Thanks again!

I gained 30 pounds in 3 months on the Inderal and elavil combo as my first preventative.

I will have to tell you it is the worst weight i ahve ever attempted to take back off..I know several others on this webisite reported the same thing.

It didn't help my migs and when I went back to the neuro he wanted me to double my dose..I was already sleeping 12 plus hours per day....and had kids at home..so that was a big fat NO WAY>

LIke I said..the worst weight I ever tried to lose..I have whipped it...but it was so tough

I gained some weight on Inderal. It didn't make me hungrier or anything, but did make me very inactive. I felt sluggish the whole time I was on it. I think it slowed my metobolism down as I was always cold on it. I lost the weight when I went off it.

Elavil was much worst for weight gain. I think I gained at least 15 lbs.
