Ok, no takers, so does that mean:
a. this is a boring subject.
or
b. no one else gets this....
It is easier today, but I a stil lnot sure if it s connected to the migriane or the Fibro.

pen,
I read the post but don't understand.
are you saying you have head pain?

or that you have a headache that is not like your typical migrane?

I do get headaches in addition to migranes. They are different. However, the headache usually causes a migrane if it lingers for hours.

The position of the pain is different as well as the intensity. Often the headache is caused by allergies.

can you describe it more for me?

I have the same thing, I think. I have constant

pain/pressure in my eyes and pain & sensitivity

in the back of my head. The pain in my head

never goes away but if I bump my head in that

spot bam! I get a migraine, or if the lights are

too bright, migraine. If something even gets

close to my head the hairs on the back of my

head, where the pain is stands on end, like it's

preparing for pain or something. My neuro said

that it was normal. But while I was on Elavil

these symptoms went away but I'm not on any

preventative now because of all the side

effects. You should talk to your neuro, being on

a preventative might help!

How do you know it is not a migraine? Migraines can take many forms. What you are describing is very much like one of the types of migraine that I get. The only thing that will help me is a triptan. I prefer Imitrex, but that is just me.

Try a triptan if you can take them and see if it helps.

Peace
Mark

I get that kind of pain for DAYS before I get a full-blown M. If it gets any worse than just a dull ache, I take a triptan. If I don't take one, it will likely end up and an M.

I get lurking pain like that, involving my eyes and funny as it sounds my face. I consider it one of the forms my migraines take.

It isn't the head pounding throwing up one but is just as effective in ruining my day. Taking a Maxalt does improve things.

Hope you are feeling better from your posts you seem to be having a rough time.

I haven't had to much of the "back of the head pain," but the eye pain is pretty consistent with me and I have yet to find anything that helps with it. The eye pain gets ten times worse when I have a migraine and then just turns into a dull constant pain afterwards(gosh, that sounds depressing).

I wish I had a suggestion. I would consider trying the triptans, like the others suggest and see if it helps.
Take Care,
Brandy

sounds just like what I have every day and the mornings are the worst! I have tried just about all of the triptans but my blood pressure gets WAY out of control when I take them. I have had three rounds of Botox in my forehead which seems to help the intensity of my daily headaches but does nothing for the break thru migraines which I still experience about 3 times a week. Last month I also had Botox injections in my neck at the base of my head(never again) had the worst tention type h/a feeling as if my head was too heavy for my neck and shoulders. well enough of my ramblings not feeling the greatest ie all the edits.

Hmm, seems I am not alone.
I have had this now since the last mig sort of faded last Thursday. The pain just hasn't gone, but isnt a full mig. And it is, they tell me myofascial pain. mostly on the right and like someone stuck a spike through from the top of my head to behind my ear. then it goes down the side of my neck, which is tender to touch.
But the worst is how it has been this week when it is in my eyes as well....
I did give in and take a couple of pain killers and it helped. managed to go the last two without any, still hurting, but less....
the thing is, the next mig is due any day so not had a break at all. It was like this for me about 5 years ago, pretty scary for it to come back like this.
thanks for all your input. sorry you all have it too.
may we all have some peace from this dreadful pain.
