"Back from Vegas - 6 migraines in 3 days"
I just got back from a wedding/mini vacation in Las Vegas and I have never been there before. In 3 days I got 6 migaines which is a record and it has me thinking about a connection. Being that I get preventative releif from Topamax which is made for Epileptics, and Vegas is a non-stop sea of flashing lights and dinging noises which would bring on epileptic attacks; for me, it brought on 6 attacks in a rapid succession.

Things that make you go hmmmmm. It's all in the brain, of course.

I am sorry, you had zero chance

We drove cross country this summer, spending a night in Reno and Vegas.

Both hotels the husband and I had migraines within 10 minutes of walking in- and we did not gamble at all. It was just the awful combination of all 3. Plus the no windows, natural light, or clocks.

Are you kidding? I was only at a regular wedding and just the flash bulbs going off set me off (but do any of the rest of you think 2 still photographers and 2 videographers is excessive? Everywhere I turned there were bright lights).

Yikes, I cringe at the thought of Vegas!

Don't forget the smoke! There is no smoking in restaurants etc where I live. The smoke is one of the first things I notice in Vegas. Huge Trigger!

I was thinking about the smoke also. Everywhere you go I was walking into a cloud of second hand smoke which I wasn't used to. That, and the stress level was kept high with the constant distractions. No chance for relaxing.

Migraine hell for sure.

What I wonder is do the folks who don't have migraines like all that flashing and dinging? I can't understand how anyone thinks that's enjoyable.

I like vegas, but it is migraine central for me too. For me, it is the dry weather. I try to drink lots of fluids when i am there, but still i get all dried up and get headaches from the slight dehydration.

This seems to be a problem that follows me through the southwest.

While I was there the weather was cool and not hot at all, but I was so thirsty you'd think I had shares on bottled water. I thought it was the meds but I wonder if it is the extra oxygen they pump into the casino air (or do they?) There was one day that I didn't have a migraine and I still couldn't get enough water, and even my guys were super thirsty too.

Could that be the stressed atmosphere/setting maybe that keeps the adrenalin too high? Do migrainers who engage in adrenalin activities (such as sky diving) trigger migraines?

bob shut up and get off this page. post once dont post nine thousand times.
i respect trying to advertise but trying to piss people off who are genuinely in pain is a different story.
you arent getting any business here.
if you dont stop posting i will post on every migraine site i know that your product
wont work and you will loose money, my friend.
like i said, there's nothing wrong with some good business marketing, but being excessive is wrong.

Bob, at the risk of being rude, take that "someting" and peddle it somewhere else.

As to Vegas, it is a big migraine cesspool for me. I still go.

I LOVE Vegas. Love it. I love to gamble though. It's an adrenaline high for me. I love the lights, the noise, the people, the vibrancy, the atmosphere. I confess I even smoke when I'm in Vegas. I draw the line at drinking though. I no longer drink at all because of the alcohol triggering migraines.

I live close enough to Vegas that I used to go 4 or 6 times a year (when I had a job). I kind of got used to the triggers so they didn't bother me so much. The migraines were manageable after a while. Now, although I don't go as often (only once this year and last), and I still get migraines while there, they aren't severe.

I go to casinos closer to home and am not bothered by the atmosphere very much either.

I guess its a matter of what you can get used to?
