"Neurontin"
While reading posts lately, Neurontin has been mentioned a lot lately. A person I work with takes that with 2 high doses of an anti-inflammatory daily and cut her migraines from 3-4 a week to one a month.

What do any of you who have tried it have to say about it? Do you take anything else with it? I always wonder when you are taking more than one preventive if all of them are really needed. Thanks for any input.

I take it three times a day, 600 mg in the morning, 600 mg in the mid-day, and 900 mg at night.

I really like it. It has decreased the severity of the pain quite a bit. The duration of the pain is also reduced.

What I really, really like about it is that my auras/prodrome, which were the worst part of my migraine, have decreased by about 80%, at least. It has worked on my visual auras, my hypersensitivity to smells and phantom smells, and my left-sided tingling has even been decreased.

It doesn't really make me sleepy, which is contrary to the way most people react to it. Thankfully! I don't think I could handle anything else that made me sleepy. I'm sleepy enough, already.

I also take 60 mg of fluoxetine at night.

I also have as needed Midrin, Flexeril, and Naprosyn.

I take 2400 mg. of Neurontin, and 25 mg. of amitriptyline.

The combination is giving me more relief than anything else I have tried in the last 5 years.

I took 900 mg daily, 300 3x a day, with 200 mg of topomax. The combo made me sleepy. My nuero had me cut out the nuerontin recently and am now just on topomax, and I don't see that the nuerontin added anything, the topomax works fine w/o it.
Go figure!

Dude, we don't need any more spammers on this board.

If you're legit, follow the rules and confine your comments to the thread you already started. Don't post the same comment over and over in every single thread.

If you're a spammer, go peddle your papers elsewhere. The people who come here are here to discuss serious issues, and spamming is NOT the way to get us to buy your product.
