"Transformed migraine../ Botox"
Hi all,
I haven't logged on for a while b/c i have been having a lousy few months.
Was hospitalized last week for a really bad spell assoc with so much vomiting that I was dehydrated and given 2 bags of IV fluids.
Still having daily vomiting and nausea sometimes assoc and sometimes not with pain. It has been really diff to be compliant with my preventatives b/c it is taking all of my willpower to not spew out my stomach contents all the time. Taking the meds just worsens the nausea and honestly i am just frustrated with swallowing all of them anyway.
At the moment i feel like a human pin cushion. One of the alternative abortives used in hospital some time ago in lieu of the opiates pretty much thrombosed the vein they used and since then all of the other IVs that have been placed have more or less done the same thing. Now even something as mior as bloodtaking is a monumentally painful experience as most of my veins are thrombosed.
My neuro is holding on to the whole rebound/withdrawal thing again but my husband has already told him that neither one of us can go thru another experience of painkillers being withheld as had been done previously about 5 months ago.
My husband also found some info about 'transformed migraine' i.e. CDH with assoc daily nausea and vomiting interspersed with high grade severe attacks which seems more in keeping with what i am complaining of now.
Finally did Botox Rx for the chronic migraine two days ago. I am so bad now i am willing to try most anything. Will let you know how that goes. Interesting thing, most all of my HAs are right-sided. All of the injections on my right side i barely noticed at all, in fact some were even almost acupressure-like but the ones on the left were painful.
Anyway sorry for the long post and the tone of it. Guess i needed to vent.
Anushka

Anushka,

I notice this oftentimes when giving myself DHE injections. Kind of weird. Have you mentioned it to the doctors to see if they have an explanation for why this happens?

Hope they can give you meds to make you more comfortable, and soon. Hang in there.....

Becky
