| "chronic daily headache syndrome" | |
Hi am new here. Was just wondering if anyone else has been diagnosed with cdas? A nuerologist told my that is what I have, but primary doc says chronic migraines. Just got switched to inderall and fiorinal. If I don't take meds then I have a migraine 24/7 with no relief without demerol. Anyone out live with pain constantly?

How long have you had migraines like that? I've had a migraine everyday for 6 weeks with 2 ER trips and I feel like I'm dying. I'd like to know how other people live with daily pain like this.

I have had this type of headache for about 3 years now. Just came on like a freight train. My first and only nuerologist said that it chronic daily headache syndrome and told my I had to learn to live with it. Sucks!!

Hi Deadhead. I sure feel for you. Do be careful with the fiorinal. That can actually cause daily migraine. It really helps for a while but then you need more and more of it. This drug is notorious for rebound. There is much information on this board about the "rebounding" from our meds. Believe me, I'm not saying that your headaches don't need medication. It's just some of them can actually make things worse. Even using over the counter meds on a daily basis can have the same results. Inderal may make a difference for you. It worked for me but then I had to stop it because it is contraindicated for asthmatics. I have had good results taking a supplement called "Migra-lieve" which is made of B2, magnesium, and feverfew. I made great strides in improving my diet (eating lots of small snacks of whole foods, cutting out the junk, weaning off of caffiene, and drinking lots of water). I don't have the daily migraine anymore. I know how hopeless it feels when the pain gets chronic. Good luck with your battle.

Hi dead, nice to meet you, but sorry to hear of your pain. My humble opinion is that you may as well forget worrying about what the doctors call your condition. That really only matters if it affects your treatment options or your insurance coverage. The last neurologist I went to, who at that time was affiliated with a headache clinic, called mine " chronic daily headache with superimposed migraine." That is an accurate description of the way I experience it, so that is what I have stuck with.

Totally understand the basing progress by the amount of pain thru the day or the lack thereof. I am pretty much pain free for most days but when I do get a migraine it is for 2 to 4 days long. I am getting used to the pain in my head after 3 years of it but the upset stomach and the vision problems leading up to dizziness is a real pain in the butt. I am really happy to have found all of you. It is nice to know its not all in head!. Thanks.
