"Sansert"

Hello Everyone:
Is there anyone who currently or has previously
taken sansert for migraines? I have read
a bit about the drug and it sounds quite nasty.

My neurologist has mentioned the possibilty of
using this drug if all else fails.
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

I tried sansert about 10 yrs ago and I remember it worked really well but...it made my body feel heavy and achy like I had the flu. My legs felt weak and sore. I only took it twice because the feeling it gave me scared me.

Imitrex works better for me and I have no weird feelings from it.

I asked my doc for it and they wouldnt give it to me.

You should also be aware it reacts to alot of other meds- you cant take any of the triptans or migranol and other ergotamines.

I take it ive been on it for 6 mo now and am on the "drug holiday". I guess I will say the good about it I take Topamax 450mg/Sansert 8mg combined daily. Now that I am off the sansert for the 4weeks I am in migraine hell. I dont know if its still rebound sort of like getting off cafergot or simply because it worked so well or maybe I am in just a wicked cycle I just cant tell right now. What I do know its been way too long to be at a 10 for soo long.

When I first started Sansert with my Topamax I had no ill side affects only extreme positive results. However that wore off but there where more positives than negatives according to my headache log book!!

Thank you for your responses. I believe that
I will attempt to try ALL the other drug options
that may be available before using Sansert.
Although I must say that I have taken quite a
few of the preventive meds without a complete
response. One wonders if there is such a thing
as a complete response? I sure hope so!!
Thanks again.
