"Important!! Candida connection?!!!?"
I found out a possible link to all my problems yesterday and feel the need to share this!! Seems as though Candida could be the cause of ALL my problems.

I always thought that it was a yeast problem that would cause 'obvious' symptoms, especially for us women. And since i have never had a yeast infection before...i never gave it a 2nd thought. But PLEASE read all the symptoms and problems that Candida causes.

In brief...this could exlain my migraines, my allergies, my memory loss and my depression!!

Persistent drowsiness / tired all the time
Lack of co-ordination
Headaches / migraines
Mood swings
Loss of balance
Rashes
Mucus in stools
Belching and /or flatulence
Bad breath
Dry mouth or throat
Nasal itch and/or congestion
Nervous irritability
Tightness in chest
Ear sensitivity or fluid in ears
Heartburn and indigestion

Here are a few typical questions..

Have you had thrush (oral or vaginal) more than once?

Have you had recurrent cystitis or other vaginal infections (not thrush)?

Do you have a history of endometriosis?

Have you had athlete's foot or fungal infections of the nails or skin?

Are you severely affected by exposure to chemical fumes, perfumes, tobacco smoke etc.? Or are your symptoms worse after taking yeasty or sugary foods or drinks?

Do you suffer from a variety of food allergies?

Do you suffer from abdominal bloating, diarrhoea or constipation?
Do you suffer from pre-menstrual syndrome?

Do you suffer from depression, fatigue, lethargy or poor memory?

Do you have food cravings?

Do you have muscular aches, tingling, numbness or burning?

Do you suffer from unaccountable aches and / or swelling in joints?

Do you have erratic vision or spots before the eyes?

Do you suffer from impotence or lack of sexual desire?

Candida can happen in both MEN and WOMEN! The cause can be anything from eating too many yeasty foods to being on antibotics etc. It can hang around for years after finding a home in the body

I am going to check this out for myself. I would rather take the time to check for this problem and maybe fixing it with some natural remedies than start the anti depressents and seizure meds etc that I am supposed to next month!!

Hope you found this info helpful!

Oops! Forgot to mention the Fibromyalgia thing too.

This is how I learned of Candida. I asked the woman in the herb/narture food shop if she knows anything about Fibro and her response was.....

'Usually it is undiagnosed Candida'

then she rambled off a list of other symptoms that all fit.
I thought maybe it was something many here would be interested in looking into

Wow, imagine if this were the answer! I don't suffer from the typical candida symptoms listed but keep me informed...I'm interested!

There's also been a link discovered between H. Pylori and migraines. Some people that had H. Pylori had their migraines go away after they tok antibiotics to clear up the H. Pylori.

My dad got tested to see if he had H. Pylori and he did not. I haven't bothered to get tested because I *never* have any stomach problems. But maybe I should anyway.

I have some supplements that are supposed do something with Candida (but I'm not sure what). I guess I should take them more regularly.

Hi Everyone:
From personal experience please be very wary about these candida claims. Candida is present in our bodies and will live quite comfortably unless we overdue antibiotics or are immunodepressed. Ten years ago I was desperate to find answers as to why I was so sick. I became a patient of a physician who had authored many books on Candida and yeast overgrowth.

I was put on a regimen of Nystatin and took daily
shots of an anti-candida drug. Yes, I actually
had to give myself needles daily. He told me that I could only eat certain foods, grains and some
meats, it was horrible. Anyway, thousands of dollars later, I was no better off than when I
first started. Oh, I was about twenty pounds lighter.(I was thin to begin with)

Please, research this topic before considering
treatment or dietary changes. Last I read, there does not seem to be a whole lot of scientific evidence supporting these claims.

Um, before you jump into this candida stuff feet first check with your regular physician please.

And check my favorite site - www.quackwatch.com - just type candida in the search box and watch the information fly.

or try this direct link...

Thing is...my sister suffered with this for years. After to going to one expensive dr, she found another regular practioner that helped her. She no longer suffers like she once did

I am certain there is a reason for my constant allergies even though I test negative for everything. Here i am with a chronic sinus infection and stuffed nose...yet not offically allergic. Weird

There are tests that you can do to test for this...so its not like I'd have to spend a fortune without knowing if it is a problem.

I also suspect this becuase for one, I have eaten nothing but bread for 10 years and 2 with all my sinus infections and bronchitis I've been on antibtics over and over again

I do appreciate the warnings though! Believe me...i dont have that kind of many anyway, so there is no worry that i'd spend hundreds or even thousands on a dr. *lol*

9. "RE: candida may be bogus"
10 years ago I had a case of mono that almost killed me. I ended up with fulminating thrush,(oral candida) it was all over the inside of my mouth and overflowed to the outside. This is a sign of AIDS. They treated me like I had AIDS for 2 years, and scared me to death! It ended up being a severe case of mono that I have never fully recovered from.My imune system was severely attacked. I took Sporanox, a prescription antifungal, for over a year to try to cure my infection. They were on the verge of admitting me for IV therapy, because I had 2 type of candida, one being resistant, but I decided against it.It would have been brutal. Anyway, with all the antifungals I have been on I didn't notice any difference in my headaches. I still have ongoing problems and will never be 100%. But I don't have AIDS. I do have a severe allergy to molds that I get shots for every week. Follow the diets, it can't hurt you, but be careful of the antifungal drugs.

10. "RE: Acidophilus for Candida Overgrowth"
Hello, HH

I've been taking acidophilus tabs for about 3 years to help kill a suspected candida overgrowth condition. Because I've also done many other things, the results of which were an elimination of migraines althogether, (except for that nasty MSG migaine recently) I can't say for certain just how much the acidophilus has helped my headaches.

What I can say is that I feel a whole lot better and for the first time in DECADES, my chronic recurring altheletes foot fungus problem seems to have finally disappeared. My sinuses are rarely congested (a REALLY BIG change) and I rarely catch a cold or flu bug anymore.

So I'd have to say that there is indeed some potential benefits to working on clearing up a suspected candida overgrowth condition, even if you have not been tested to verify it's presence. Acidophilus tabs are not expensive and are available in the health food section.

Interestingly, candida is a naturally occurring fungus that lives in everyones digestive system. Overgrowth typically occurs when excessive use of antibiotics kills off to many of the natural flora in one's intestines, allowing the candida to flourish excessivly, hence the term "overgrowth". But unlike natural gut flora, candida can penetrate the intestinal walls and move throught the body, settling in almost any organ, including the brain.

Candida also feeds upon nutrients in your gut much differently than natural flora. Being a yeast, sugar is it's favorite food with carbon dioxide being it's main byproduct. If you tend to get a bad case of the "winds" after eating a suggery food, you may suspect a candida overgrowth condition. (Sorry if that's a bit too gross)

Candida that has settled in other places in the body stresses the autoimunine system, which is always attacking the fungus (and usually losing). I suspect that as the imune system cranks up to try to defeat the invading candida, some innocent parts of the body are attacked also and fall victim to "frendly fire" during the battle. Nervous systems tissues beng rather minimal in size, are likely to be the first to see damage from this, IMHO.

Then again, I could be all wet!

Wishing you a pain free day!

Steve

11. "RE: Acidophilus for Candida Overgrowth"
Thanks for the info Steve!

From what i have read....after the body has tried (and failed) to fight of the Candida it can lead to atuo immune disorders, basically because your body exhaustes itself

This may not prevent my migraines, but if it happens to be one of my problems, it could explain the constant congestion and mucus (sorry!) that I have. I know my sinuses contribute to my migraines!!!

I know I have a susceptibility to migraines..that will always be the case. But I believe there is something "wrong" with me right now (and over the past 3 years) that keeps setting them off!!

Pain for me sets off a migraine...period
If there is something creating discomfort in my body it can be the cause of my near daily problems

This also might answer why I got ring worm a few months ago. Any here remember that!??! It is also a symptom

Like you said Steve...it is not that expensive to take some suppliments to prevent or help to fight this. I think its worth a try!!
