"Hi all, is there any one out there who could let me in on the tapering off of duragesic patch and what to expect ?"
just wondering, not ready yet but I am getting really scared of all these heavy meds.... I am off of the lortab, other than for break through, which isn't often.... but now how to get off the patch.....thanks in advance.... candleshoe

I used the Patch (cant remember the strength but I think it was the 75mcg) for 9 months. When I decided to stop I was changed to the 50mcg then the 25mcg then I just left a patch on for more than the 72 hours. I also used a clonidine (catapres) patch. It is used for high blood pressure and withdrawl symptoms. I had some Xanax and Vicoprofen for pain - but I really had no trouble. Be sure to take the time to wean properly and while I had no withdrawl symptoms for the next month I felt very sensitive to pain. But nothing like I expected. I wish you luck - Lynn

	Thanks Lynn, I have only been on this patch for 2 months, but was on lortab 10/500 for over a year. I admit I am frightened.... never had problems before...but every time I tried to wean off the lortab the pain was more than I could bare after about 4-5 days. I was sick to my stomach and nervous and sweaty... it was not good. thanks for the input, makes me feel better.... HUGZ candleshoe
