"Bewitched"
Anna bought the old Bewitched series on DVD.

She bought the colored version. I think there is an original black and white version.

If she can't fall asleep, she puts it on with a timer, and it puts her to sleep.

She is thrilled.

I think it is the music, which is definitely in a class by itself.

Sure brings back some memories.

I've watched a few episodes, and they were very enjoyable.

I remember watching it as a kid. I loved Uncle Arthur (Paul Lynde) and Esmerelda (Alice Ghostly) because she'd fade away when she was embarrassed about her poor magic.

Yet, even as a kid, I thought to myself, 'If I was Samantha, Darrin would have to learn to love my magic or go away'!

Leslie,
I felt the same way about that Darrin (but not the one I married!).
What was so great about him anyway - he was kind of a jerk.
I also liked Dr.Bombay very much!

So many of the "old" shows are definitely good the second, or the two hundred and twenty second, time. Bewitched sure is included in that list.

Anna has very good taste in TV viewing!!!!

Leslie, you gave me a really funny mental picture with Dr. Bombay.

"Dr. Bombay, please make my migraine go away!"

He says, "Okay! Okay! First I have to call the drug companies, the American Medical Association and the U.S. Government control agencies. If they okay it, I'll be able to help you in, say, 10 years? Hang in there kid!"

I can hear his voice! I suppose the actor who played the part has passed on by now, as most on the show have.

You may be suprised but Bewitched were playing in the 60ties and 70ties on polish TV and it was a smash!
My entire family loved this show and I remember how we made sure we watched every episode and our neighbours who didn't have her own TV at the time used to come and watch it with us.

I can still recall one episode when Samantha bewitched a Siamese cat into Oriental beauty and how her neighbour was dumbfounded watching some woman lap the milk at her door step! We so laughed!!
And another one when Samantha made herself a swimming pool and then when she realised her neighbour is watching she quickly changed it into a trampoline.
And that lady always had to drink some nerves remedy, lol..

There of course was a lot more but I remember these two best

'Bewitched' from time to time, as well as 'I Dream of Jeannie' (which also was run in Poland) is still being run on TV..

At the time my very favorite thing that Samantha did was when she could twitch her nose and the whole house would be clean. Oh!!! If only!!!!

Or there would be a really yummy dinner instantly on the dining room table.

Of course, her ability to "pop" in and out of places was also really cool.

I haven't seen the new Bewitched movie. I'm sort of afraid to. It seems like all of the remakes of good 60's and 70's TV shows are miserable failures.

Sometimes you just can't improve on the original.

I think it's really neat that "youngins" like Anna can watch those oldies but goodies on DVD.

You sure don't have to watch out for bad language, sexual inuendos or gorey violence.

Hmmmm.....now I know why people sometimes refer to them as "the good old days!"

I like Bewitched.

I always wanted to be "Tabitha" when I was a kid.

I thought Samantha was beautiful.
