I've had exercise induced, menstrual and other migraines for years. I started taking iron about 2 1/2 months ago and my exercise-induced headaches have disappeared. It took about 2 weeks for me to notice the change. My iron levels were always in the normal range, even high, when I experienced these headaches. I recently met another woman who got exercise-induced migraines from extensive (4 hrs/day) workouts, and she took iron to get rid of them, too. Thank you for this page, & I hope this helps someone.

I've been search the net trying to find information on the type of migraine I expierence. So far I have found nothing!!! MY Doctor Classified them as Exercise Induced Migraines. Which means when my heart rate goes (over 140) up I get a migraine. ( Some days my heart rate will climb as high as, 168 although I feel I am not working very hard.) Therefor exercising for me is a double edge sword I get sum relieve from Naproxen, which is just an anti-inflamitory----- basicly its twice as strong as Aleave. But, it does not work all the time or even most of the time. I must take the med. an hour before I start my workout. Although< there is no telling if it will work. The headach always starts in my eyes and works its way back. I've also found my body does not handle complex carbs very well. Is any of this related, I think so. But my Doctors don't talk to each other!!!! The only other person I have heard of with these kinds of headaches is Terrell Davis, of the Denver Broncos. Believe me, I have searched, but have not come across anyone else or any informatiom. Please help!!

HI! I AM A MIGRAINE SUFFERER. I'VE BEEN SUFFERING WITH MIGRAINES SINCE ABOUT THE AGE OF 12. THE HEADACHES OFTEN BEGIN WITH SPOTS THAT MOVE AROUND AND DO NOT ALLOW ME TO SEE AN OBJECT CLEARLY, I CAN ONLY SEE HALF OF THE OBJECT. THIS IS THE ONSET OF THE MIGRAINE. THIS HAPPENS FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR. THEN THE HEADACHE COMES, IF I DO NOT TAKE MY MEDICINE BUBATBIL/APAP OR TYNENOL THE HEADACHE IS SO BAD THAT I CAN FUNCTION. IT IS USUALLY ON ONE SIDE OF MY HEAD, BUT IT CHANGES EACH TIME A GET IT FROM THE LEFT TO THE RIGHT OR VICE VERSA. IF I DONT TAKE MY MEDICINE, I ALSO FEEL NUMBNESS ON ONE SIDE OF MY BODY, EITHER THE LEFT OR RIGHT BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME. THE NUMBNESS TRAVELS FROM MY HAND UP TO MY ARM, MY FACE (NOSE, CHEEK, LIPS, TONGUE) UNTIL IT GOES AWAY. THE HEADACHED LINGERS UNTIL IT GOES AWAY. IT IS A TERRIBLE FEELING AND I HATE WHEN I GET THEM. I NOTICE THAT IF I DRINK RED WINE OR EAT AGED CHEESE OR EAT CERTAIN TYPES OF CHOCALATE THAT THE HEADACHE COMES. I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS SIMILIAR SYMPTOMS AND THAT IS TAKING A MEDICINE THAT REALLY WORKS THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM FEEL DOWN AND THEN UP AGAIN. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN TELL ME WHAT HAS WORKED FOR THEM AND POSSIBLY EXCHANGE INFO. THANKS!

thanks to all who have written w/suggestions.I am going to neuro. at the end of this mo.I have been checking into basilar artery m's due to the weakness in left side and would like to hear from those of you who have this type also anyone that has had any problems w/imitrex.Dr. has basically given me an open presciption for this (50 mgs) and i am experiencing heart palps and x-tra beats---certainly nothing normal.I did tho have a dr. tell me about17 yrs. ago that when my heart starts to pound really hard or"flutters" it is because it has missed a beat and is making up for it .He likened it to a "dogs" heart----what a professional huh!?!?!So please let me know your thoughts and remember to make it thru one more day,i know you can do it. Kris
